Dukes takes its name from the adjacent 'Dukes Lock' which is the 92nd and final lock on the Rochdale Canal. As the bottom lock this should have been No.1, but the canal was built by a yorkshireman who refused to have No.1 in Lancashire!

Our summer bbqs are hosted by one of our chefs and held every weekend (British weather permitting!). Enjoy the tasty delights of summer on our forecourt, with bbqs offering a meaty array of burgers, sausages, chicken, steak burgers as well as corn on the cobs, to suit all taste buds and perfect to fill any grumbling stomach!

Sundays:

Laze away your Sundays at Dukes. We offer delicious traditional Sunday lunches in Dukes grill or enjoy the chilled Sunday ambience with regular live music on our forecourt, featuring local artists.

The Gallery area, situated on a mezzanine level with a balcony overlooking the forecourt offers a more intimate way to spend your Sunday, and there's no need to move a muscle as we offer full table service in this area.
The balcony is the perfect suntrap to wind away the hours with a cocktail or two watching the world go by. So whether it be sipping wine in the sun, tapping your foot to live jazz or snacking on cheese and pate from our famous cheese & pate counter Sundays at Dukes offers it all.
